Stone Mountain woman killed in house fire

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) – A woman has died in a fire at a Stone Mountain home.

DeKalb Fire spokesman Eric Jackson tells local media that firefighters responded to the fire just before midnight on Monday at a house in West Stone Mountain. When firefighters arrived, the house was already fully involved. Part of the roof collapsed, which Jackson says made the search and rescue difficult.

Fire officials found the body of a woman early Tuesday. Family members have identified the woman as 87-year-old Anne Young, and say she had lived in the home since the 1970s. Young was the only person in the house at the time of the fire.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
