Staying warm Thursday afternoon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Highs will again reach around 80 degrees Thursday afternoon around Middle Georgia.
This Evening
A partly cloudy afternoon will see some clearing through the evening hours however a handful of clouds will linger into the overnight hours. The wind is shifting back towards the northwest which will slow the warming through tomorrow. Overnight lows will continue to warm, however, as the temperature valleys will be in the mid to upper 50s ahead of tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow
Another partly cloudy and warm day is likely as highs will once again reach to around 80 degrees across the region accompanied by light southwest winds. A stray shower could be possible in the late afternoon or evening however the odds are quite slim.
Overnight will see partly to mostly cloudy skies with lows in the mid to upper 50s. The warmest spots may only drop into the lower 60s. Fog will be possible ahead of Friday morning as the overnight winds will be light from the south-southwest.
Friday and Beyond
Friday will be a warm and muggy day with highs likely in the low to mid 80s around the region. Clouds will fill in through the day with a few showers possible in the late evening. Overnight storm odds have dropped for Friday into Saturday however a few showers/rumbles of thunder remain possible as a cold front arrives. Said front will also bring a few showers and storms Saturday as the first half of the weekend will be on the cloudy side of things. More sunshine is likely Sunday however temperatures will be a few degrees cooler thanks to the cold front’s passage.
