Staying below average Wednesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Mostly sunny skies are likely Wednesday with the highest odds for cloud cover occurring in the southeastern counties of the region.
Today
Expect light winds from the east-southeast throughout the afternoon. Temperatures will largely reach the lower 70s for their peaks.
Expect mostly clear skies overnight with temperatures jumping into the mid to upper 40s for lows across the region. Expect wind from the south-southeast at around 5 mph.
Thursday and Beyond
Thursday will be mostly sunny overall with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s. However, expect cloud cover to increase in the late afternoon ahead of an overnight cold front that will bring rain after midnight. This rain will largely clear the region ahead of sunrise Friday. Said cold front will drop temperatures back into the mid 60s by Saturday afternoon.
