State Rep. Patty Bentley talks top issues for lawmakers in 2015

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – State Representative Patty Bentley represents smaller Middle Georgia communities, but she expects lawmakers to tackle big issues this year. 41NBC’s Amanda Castro sat down with her ahead of the 2015 legislative session.

Bentley (D-District 139) says the three top issues this year are transportation, education, and healthcare.

The lawmaker says as of now for 2015 she will be working on local legislation that will impact the communities she represents.

Bentley says she will support Representative Allen Peake’s medical marijuana bill. She adds it is a bi-partisan effort to help save Georgians who left the state seeking treatment and to bring them back home.

Bentley says she is excited to serve the people of House District 139.
