State Rep.-Elect Heath Clark ‘eager’ to head up to the Gold Dome

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – State Representative-Elect Heath Clark is heading up to the Gold Dome for the first time this year. 41NBC’s Amanda Castro sat down with the new lawmaker who says he is excited to represent Houston County in Atlanta during the 2015 legislative session.

Clark (R-District 147) says he is eager to start. He tells 41NBC’s he has done the prep work and is ready to learn through experience. He adds he is a little nervous, but is ready to learn the in’s and out’s of the Capitol.

The lawmaker says transportation is going to be a big issue this year. He says his constituents have already reached out to him concerned about tax increases. Clark says he intends to keep his promises that he made while campaigning, which include lowering taxes and fiscal responsibility.

Clark adds State Representative Allen Peake’s medical cannabis bill will be a hot topic of discussion this year.

The 2015 legislative session starts on January 12.
