State Economic Development Commissioner looks for job opportunities in Middle Georgia

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – State officials are looking at how Middle Georgia can take advantage of the rise of economic opportunities.

Commissioner Chris Carr stopped at the Allman Brother’s Big House Museum in Macon on his tour to learn how the region can receive more jobs.

Carr says working together with communities around the state and in Middle Georgia will be beneficial toward the state’s economy.

“This area has a lot of opportunities from an aerospace perspective, from a commerce perspective, logistics, but also from tourism and film, and trade and the arts and our task is to increase jobs in investment and to work with local communities to help them do that as well,” said Carr.

Carr says he sees the potential challenges the area might face as opportunities.

He says the strong technical schools in the region will help provide a strong workforce for jobs across the state.
