Speed a factor in fatal Bibb teen car accident

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb sheriff’s deputies say one of the reasons a teenager crashed his car on Zebulon Road last Wednesday, was because he was driving too fast.

Authorities say 18-year-old Grant Hoffman told them he was going around 65 to 70 miles an hour, when his Nissan Maxima started to “fish tail.”

Hoffman then lost control and hit several trees.

The impact injured Hoffman and 17-year-old Abby Hinson.

She later died at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

This is still an ongoing investigation.

A memorial service for Abby Hinson is scheduled for Thursday.
