Sotomayor Gets Another $1.9 Million For Memoir

WASHINGTON (AP) – Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has gotten more than $3 million in advance payments for her best-selling memoir from her publisher.

The justice’s annual financial disclosure forms were released Friday. They show that Knopf Doubleday Group paid Sotomayor $1.925 million in 2012 in anticipation of her book “My Beloved World.” This comes in addition to the $1.2 million in advance payments she received from the publisher in 2010.

The book was first released in January and has been on the New York Times’ nonfiction best-seller list for several weeks, including the No. 1 spot.

The 58-year-old justice has traveled the country promoting her memoir this year but any royalties and speaker fees won’t show up until future disclosure forms.
