Slightly warmer tonight; staying chilly Wednesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures should stay above the teens overnight tonight however Middle Georgians should still drip their faucets.
This Evening
A sunny day will give way to a clear night initially before cloud cover increases through the overnight hours. This will lead to conditions being warmer than last night by almost 10 degrees around the region. That said temperatures will still be several degrees below freezing by tomorrow morning, so it’s still a good idea to bring any pets or plants indoors and drip the faucets. The wind will flow from the west-northwest at 5-10 mph with gusts reaching to around 15 mph.
Tomorrow
Expect a cloudy start to Wednesday before conditions begin to clear during the late morning hours. Temperatures should peak in the low to mid 50s as the wind continues from the west-northwest at 5-12 mph. Gusts should range between 15-20 mph.
Overnight will be cold once again with temperatures largely dipping into the lower 20s. Middle Georgians will continue to need to drip the faucets. Wind will flow from the northwest at 5-10 mph.
Thursday and Beyond
Mostly cloudy conditions are likely the remainder of the work week with conditions likely becoming overcast by Saturday morning. Overnight lows will remain in the low to mid 20s with a possible dip back into the teens over the weekend as well. The possibility for weekend snow showers also remains as a new system develops off the coast of GA and the Carolinas. This system will bring a lot of wind over the weekend as well.
