MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After a few days in the mid 80s temperatures will be closer to 80 degrees Friday afternoon.

This Evening

It’s been another clear and pleasant afternoon across the region and tonight will be clear and cool. Lows will be in the lower 50s across the region with a couple of spots possibly dropping below 50 degrees. Wind will be light from the east-southeast.

Tomorrow

The final day of the work week will be one of the cooler days as highs reach to around 80 degrees for most of the region. Wind will be light from the southeast throughout the afternoon. A few high clouds are likely to move in over the back half of the day.

Overnight will be mostly clear however some scattered clouds will be likely at least early on. Lows will drop into the low to mid 50s ahead of Saturday morning. Wind will be light from the south-southeast around 5 mph.

This Weekend

Saturday will be a sunny and warm day as highs return to the low to mid 80s around Middle Georgia accompanied by wind from the south. Clouds will move in through the overnight hours ahead of Sunday with the wind picking up ahead of a cold front. Said front will spur on storms Sunday afternoon and evening and drop temperatures into next week.

The Tropics

Every time it looks like tropical activity is done there’s another area to watch. A tropical wave to the northeast of South America may move into more favorable conditions in the Caribbean this weekend/next week. As of now it has 20% odds to develop into a depression over the next 7 days.
