Single car accident kills one in Monroe County

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single car accident that happened Saturday night.

It happened on Boxankle Road near Anderson Road in the northern part of the county, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The release says a 1984 Oldsmobile left the road while traveling north, over-corrected and the driver lost control of the vehicle. Eris Ussery’s car hit multiple trees and overturned. Ussery was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies are still investigating the cause of the accident.
