Sheriff: 1 dead, 5 injured after head-on crash in Bleckley County

One person is dead and five others are injured after a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon in the 900 block of Highway 126.

BLECKLEY COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One person is dead and five others are injured after a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon in the 900 block of Highway 126.

That’s according to a Facebook post by Bleckley County Sheriff Daniel Cape, which says the crash happened around 3:30.

According to Cape, a 61-year-old man died. Five others—a 22-year-old woman, 15-year-old boy, 7-year-old girl, 6-year-old girl and 5-year-old girl—were injured. According to Cape, the injuries required air evacuation and ground transport ambulance.

Georgia State Patrol is investigating.

“Please keep the family and friends of the deceased in mind, in addition to the crash victims as they recover and the public safety personnel who responded,” Cape wrote.
