(CNN)- Severe weather sweeping across the central United States has left a trail of destruction, with high winds, flooding and tornadoes impacting multiple states.
In Wisconsin, homeowners are assessing the damage after powerful winds tore through communities.
“He texted me… ‘is this your house?’” said one homeowner, describing the moment he learned his property had been hit. “I got a little teary-eyed… this is my first home.”
The same system caused significant damage in Michigan, where emergency crews in Kalamazoo rescued residents trapped by fallen trees. In Kent County, a man was killed after being struck by a falling tree. Heavy rain also created dangerous conditions across parts of Missouri. In Kansas City, swollen creeks and flooded roadways made travel hazardous.
The storms followed several days of extreme weather across the Plains and South, with more than 50 tornadoes reported since Thursday. Twisters were confirmed in Oklahoma and Texas, including an EF-2 tornado near Runaway Bay, northwest of Dallas.
Officials say at least two people were killed in North Texas, with homes and infrastructure sustaining significant damage.
