Mayor Pro Tem Seth Clark steps down from Macon-Bibb commission
Clark says he plans to share more details about his next steps in the coming days.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon-Bibb County Commissioner and Mayor Pro Tem Seth Clark announced Monday that he is resigning from the Macon-Bibb County Commission.
According to a public Facebook post and accompanying video he shared, Clark said he made the decision to step down from the commission after serving since 2020. He mentioned the commission’s work during that time, including cutting taxes for working families, expanding services across the community, investing in public safety, rebuilding infrastructure and green space and strengthening neighborhoods.
Clark also thanked residents for their support and spoke about a shared approach to local government.
“I’m deeply grateful to my neighbors,” he wrote. “Your belief in each other—and your willingness to turn that belief into action—has inspired me and continues to give me hope for Macon’s future.”
Clark said he plans to share more information about his next steps in the coming days.
“Our story’s worth telling, and the lessons we’ve learned along the way are worth teaching,” he said. “So in the coming days, I’ll be announcing my intentions to do just that.”
Because more than 12 months remain in his term, the Macon-Bibb Charter requires a special election to fill the vacancy. The Board of Commissioners must now pass a resolution calling for that election. Until a new representative is elected and sworn in, District 5 will remain without a direct representative on the commission.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
