UPDATE: Second arrest made in 2022 Macon apartment death investigation

Deputies say a Macon man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a 2022 death at Riverbank Apartments.

UPDATE (3/23/26): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says a second arrest has been made in connection with a 2022 death investigation at Riverbank Apartments.

According to a news release Monday, investigators and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 32-year-old Lorenzo Michael Davis of Macon around 9 a.m. Monday at a home on Old Clinton Road.

Deputies say Davis is charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of certain felonies in connection with the death of Keonta Quintez Rouse. Deputies say Davis also had an active warrant for terroristic threats in a separate case.

Davis is being held without bond.

The investigation remains active, according to the sheriff’s office.


UPDATE (5/26/22) – A Macon man is now in custody in connection with the death of 30-year-old Keonta Rouse.

27-year-old Brian Christopher Horton Jr. of Macon was arrested Thursday afternoon at an apartment located at 2050 Merriwood Drive, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, which says the arrest followed a Crimestoppers tip.

Horton was taken in for questioning before being taken to the Bibb County Jail. He’s charged with murder and also has warrants from other cases.

He’s being held without bond.


UPDATE: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of the shooting as 30-year-old Keonta Rouse of Macon.


MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man was shot and killed Thursday afternoon in Macon, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Jones tells 41NBC there was a homicide at Riverpark Apartments off of 720 Tidewater Circle. He says  the victim was a male and that he was shot multiple times. Jones said the victim was pronounced dead round 1:55 p.m.
