MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The search for the new Bibb County schools superintendent is moving to the interview stage.

During Tuesday’s called board meeting, board members announced they will hold a meeting at the Georgia School Boards Association office in Atlanta on Saturday, October 25. During that meeting, they will conduct the first round of interviews for the superintendent position.

The interviews will be held during executive session. The board cannot release the number of candidates it is interviewing for privacy purposes.

The board may hold a second round of interviews on Wednesday, October 29 in Macon, but according to the district, that date is not firm.

The district is not releasing the names of the finalists until the school board narrows it down to at least three candidates.
