The body of the missing boater has been recovered, according to the Baldwin County Public Safety Dive Team.

UPDATE (6/2/25): The body of the missing boater has been recovered, according to the Baldwin County Public Safety Dive Team.
“Great job by all agencies who participated,” the dive team said in a Facebook post. “Prayers for the family as they mourn the loss of their loved ones.”
Earlier Monday, the dive team said it was requested by Laurens County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and Fire around 8:45 a.m. to assist with the search.
“Baldwin County divers conducted targeted dives today, also utilizing drones and aqua eye sonars to aid in the attempt to locate the missing boater,” the post.

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office says the search is ongoing for a missing boater near the Shady Field boat landing on the Oconee River.
According to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office Saturday night, divers will return to the river on Sunday, June 1, to continue search efforts.
“No one is allowed on the river in the area above or below Shady Field boat landing,” the post said. “Shady Field boat landing remains closed to everyone except public safety personnel.”
Earlier in the day, the sheriff’s office asked the public to avoid the area while emergency crews responded to a boating accident.
“Emergency vehicles are experiencing delays due to traffic congestion, and every second counts,” the sheriff’s office said in its initial post. “Your cooperation is critical in helping first responders do their jobs effectively.”
