Scattered storms today, but severe weather isn’t a huge concern

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — After a hot 94 for a high yesterday, temperatures settle down to the mid to upper 80s today. However, the humidity will be high enough that it’ll still feel hot. And with daytime heating and increased moisture in the atmosphere, you bet there’s a high chance for rain today.

Storms flare up in the afternoon, becoming more widespread around 2:00 and 3:00. With the chance of severe weather being so low, the main concerns will be lightning, as always, and isolated downpours from the stronger storms. This evening, I still expect a chance for showers and storms, though they won’t be as widespread in Middle Georgia.

This pattern continues for the next several days, though the chance for rain plummets this weekend as high pressure will build into the area. Expect temperatures to jump to the mid-90s by the second half of the 7-Day.
