Scammers targeting Flint Energies customers in Houston County

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Flint Energies is warning customers of scammers who are calling restaurants in Warner Robins demanding money and threatening to cut services.

A spokesman with Flint says the scammers are telling people they’ll cut power within 45 minutes.

Caller IDs show up as “Flint Energies” but the calls are not legitimate and do not originate at Flint.

The scammers tell restaurants to pay this scam with with an iTunes card, a prepaid card or wit Western Union. Flint says they would never demand payment via phone and don’t take member payments in this fashion.

Flint has received calls from at least 12 customers. One business paid using an iTunes gift card.
