Salvation Army Angel Tree aims to serve 1,100 Bibb County children

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Salvation Army is trying to give 1,100 children in Bibb County a present this Christmas.

The Angel Tree opened at the Shoppes at River Crossing this past weekend. Adopting an angel means promising to buy the child a gift for Christmas. Children range from three months to 12-years-old. Each child’s angel has gift suggestions as well as clothing sizes.

“Of course every child deserves a gift on Christmas. Christmas has always been important to me and I’ve been very fortunate in my lifetime and I’d like for other children to enjoy what I’ve enjoyed over the years,” said Gloria Marshall, the President of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Salvation Army.

The Angel Tree will accept gifts until December 16th. Volunteers ask the gifts be returned unwrapped.
