Ronald McDonald House hosts Running for Ronald

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia hosted their 2nd annual Running for Ronald 5k and smile run on Saturday.

This year marks twelve years in service for the non-profit. 

In 2002, the Ronald McDonald House opened to families in Central Georgia.

The first family to stay at the house was from Tipton, GA, where the family was having their micro-preemie was being treated.

“To celebrate we are extending our race to 5.12k, we are very excited and will continue to help those families in need,” Executive Director Bonnie Hopkins said.

The run was for all ages and all funds raised directly supports families who stay at The Ronald Mcdonald House of Central Georgia.
