Ron Rodgers to run for Bibb County Sheriff

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Ron Rodgers has declared his candidacy for Bibb County Sheriff.

A campaign launch event is set for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17 at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in downtown Macon.

According to a campaign news release, Rodgers is a Macon resident, Fort Valley State University graduate and proud Army veteran who has served as a military police commander, patrol and traffic officer, narcotics and violent crimes investigator, training officer, holding facility and transportation supervisor, campus police criminal investigation commander, chief of police, and high school and college law enforcement instructor.

“Throughout his career, Ron has been committed to fostering a safe and thriving community driven by integrity, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility toward Macon-Bibb residents,” the release said.

Rodgers is currently the Director of the Law Academy at Southwest High School in Macon.
