“Rhapsody in Pink” Style Show

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – As the 2016 Cherry Blossom Festival gets underway, hundreds of community members gathered in Macon for a festival tradition.

The “Rhapsody in Pink” Style Show was held at the Anderson Conference Center, where men and women of all ages were able to parade down a runway to show off their pink-inspired duds.

President of the Cherry Blossom Festival, Jake Ferro, says the festival just wouldn’t be the same without a fashion show, “It’s really part of the traditional, signature events of the festival. We have the fashion show, and two or three other events that really fit into the schedule. I want to say that it’s a part of our image.”

Ferro says he and his colleagues try to get as many people from the community involved as models, “And next year we’ll have different people. So we need to continue to find a way to reach out to a lot folks, get them an opportunity to shine in the sunlight.”

The official start to the Cherry Blossom Festival is Friday, and runs through April 3rd.
