Restaurant Report Card: John’s Mexican Restaurant
The kitchen at John’s Mexican is packed with good food.
“Chips and salsa is ready to roll,” said owner John Mitchell.
And the crunch tastes as good as it sounds.
But first, here’s a restaurant that needs to step it up this week.
Loncheria Dos Amigos scored a 68.
They didn’t have towels at the hand washing sink, they stored raw beef over peppers, and the rice wasn’t served hot enough.
Other scores this week:
Houston Auto Snack Bar on Pio Nono – 100
J. Christopher’s on Starcadia Circle – 100
New China Express on Gray Highway – 97
Salads 2 Go on Millerfield Road – 94
American Philly and Wings on Russell Parkway – 90
JLD Wings and Pub on Feagin Mill Road – 86
Jus One More on Russell Parkway – 97
The Frozonee on Watson Boulevard – 91
John at John’s Mexican Restaurant took us all around his restaurant.
“We got the shells ready to rock,” said Mitchell.
John swears by his food, and so do his customers.
Those fajitas were great, and so is the health inspection score–a perfect 100.
“It just, no secret to it, it’s hard work, said Mitchell. “It’s constant walking around. You have to be in everything all the time.”
The hard work pays off at John’s Mexican Restaurant.
It’s making the grade this week.
