Restaurant Report Card: El Bronco
“It may be not a horse, but it’s the next best thing I guess,” said general manager Yadira Magana.
El Bronco has the name of a horse, but it’s got the heart and soul of a family.
“I mean we really do pour our heart and soul into everything we do here,” said Magana.
Here’s a restaurant that needs to step it up this week.
Huddle House at 208 Roberson Mill Road scored a 62.
There wasn’t a person in charge or manager there when the health inspection happened, a trash can blocked the employee hand washing sink, and there were old bread crumbs in the bread drawer.
Other scores this week:
Acapulco on Third Street scored a 99.
Adriana’s Cafe on Third Street – 82
Back to Edenz on Vineville – 95
Bearfood Tavern on Cherry Street – 80
Fountain of Juice on Montpelier Avenue – 82
Good to Go on Riverside Drive – 96
Harpin’s on Brookdale Avenue – 99
Logan’s Roadhouse on Arkwright Road – 90
Margarita’s at Mercer Village on Montpelier Avenue – 87
Ribbons Cafe on First Street – 91
Roly Poly on New Street – 99
The love is apparent all the way up until you leave.
El Bronco has no problem making you feel at home.
“Welcome home–can I get you something to drink? Something to eat?” said Magana.
And the general manager has a special connection with the owner.
“The way that my dad has raised me to run it is–this is our home,” said Magana. “You know sometimes we spend more time here in the business than we do at our actual house, so we treat everybody that comes in like we’re welcoming them home.”
The health inspection tops everything off.
“Extremely important, I mean obviously who wants to come eat at a restaurant that’s dirty?” said Magana. “I mean we’ve had so many compliments for how clean our menus are, or how clean our tables or floors, I mean everything.”
El Bronco is making the grade this week.
