Rep. Allen Peake considering to run for Lt. Governor

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – State Representative Allen Peake says he is thinking about running for Lt. Governor in 2018.

The Middle Georgia lawmaker tells 41NBC, right now his top priority is continuing to push for the next step in providing medical marijuana to Georgians, which includes coming up with a way to grow and sell cannabis oil in Georgia. He says he would then focus on winning his House seat again in 2016.

Peake says if that all happens he would then “take a good hard look at the Lt. Governor’s race.”

Peake adds he believes a “good common sense individual with [a] strong business background” should run state government. Peake says he’s a small business man and “that’s attributes I can bring to a state office.”
