Reindeer Run and Santa Stroll through Tattnall Square Park

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – You may have caught a glimpse of people wearing antler hats while running around Tattnall Square Park, Saturday.  At first glance, it may have appeared a little odd, but they were among the 850 people who ran a 5K or strolled through a 3-Kjunior run during the 22nd Annual Reindeer Run and Santa Stroll.  It was sponsored by Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health. The proceeds from the fundraiser support Children’s Hospital Navicent Health’s “Healthy Me” childhood obesity program.

Many of the runners made it to the finish line and trophies were awarded to the winners in a variety of categories.  “It’s become a popular event in Middle Georgia. Many families don’t feel like their Christmas season has started until they participate in the Reindeer Run every year,” says Navicent Health spokesperson, Eddie Coker. “So it’s become a very important part of the celebration for the community.”

Past support from the Reindeer Run and Santa Stroll funded an expansion of the Pediatric and the Neonatal Intensive Care Units.
