Keeping families informed about the latest product hazards and recalls

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Product recalls and urgent safety warnings this week, with parents and consumers urged to check their homes for potentially dangerous items. From toddler playsets linked to tragic accidents to popular snacks and kids’ toys posing hidden health risks.
Urgent warning over toddler playset after infant death
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued an urgent warning to parents following the tragic death of a 17-month-old child. The alert concerns the WPX4 Slide Playset, manufactured by Wenzhou Yidian Amusement Company in China. The playset includes openings that can trap a child’s head or neck, leading to the risk of serious injury or even death. The manufacturer has not agreed to a formal recall, so officials urge anyone with the playset to stop using it immediately and not to sell, donate, or give it away. Parents can confirm if their playset is affected by checking for the model number WPX4 and the manufacturer’s name.
Goody King Magnetic Toys recalled for swallowing hazard
Federal regulators are warning families about Goody King magnetic building cubes and blocks after reports that loose magnets inside the toys have caused life-threatening injuries. At least two children required surgery after swallowing magnets that became detached from these toys. More than 200,000 sets—sold on Amazon from January 2024 through July—are now under recall. If you have these toys at home, stop using them immediately and contact Goody King for refund instructions.
Soup Recall: Listeria concerns at Walmart
Kettle Cuisine has announced a recall of its Marketside Tomato Bisque Soup Kit due to concerns about possible listeria contamination. The affected 14-ounce kits were sold exclusively at Walmart stores in at least 29 states, including Georgia, California, New York, and Virginia. So far, no illnesses have been reported, but the FDA is warning consumers not to eat the soup. Instead, toss it out or return it to the store for a refund. For questions, Kettle Cuisine has set up a hotline, and more information is available at FDA.gov.
Granola Recall: Salmonella risk
Hampton Grocers is recalling its Lacnola Lactation Granola due to potential salmonella contamination. The granola was sold nationwide online—including through Amazon—between October 20th, 2025 and August 12th, 2026. The product comes in a pink eight-ounce pouch and has expiration dates of October 21st, 2026 or February 13th, 2027. While no illnesses have been reported, consumers who have purchased this product should throw it away and contact the retailer for a full refund.
