Rain showers likely overnight and Wednesday morning

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An incoming cold front will bring some light rain and plenty of wind to Middle Georgia tonight and much of tomorrow.
This Evening
What started as a sunny morning saw cloud cover filter in throughout the day. These will thicken through the evening and the first half of tonight before shower odds climb before sunrise. Any rain seen overnight will be light. Expect wind from the west-southwest to range from 10-15 mph with gusts reaching over 20 mph. There is no thunder or lightning expected tonight.
Tomorrow
Overcast skies are likely most of the day on Wednesday with the morning and early afternoon likely to be filled with scattered rain showers. A couple of isolated thunderstorms will be possible over the southern half of the region during the mid-afternoon. Severe weather is not anticipated. At this time temperatures should largely reach the low to mid 70s for highs. The wind will be rather pronounced as they shift from the southwest to the northwest throughout the afternoon. Sustained speeds will range from 7-15 mph with gusts ranging from 20-30 mph.
Overnight clouds will largely clear ahead of midnight with low temperatures likely in the upper 30s and lower 40s by Thursday morning. The wind will flow from the northwest at 5-10 mph with gusts to around 15 mph.
Thursday and Beyond
A mostly sunny end to the work week is expected with afternoon temperatures mainly in the 60s. Clouds will return for the weekend with another opportunity for rain, especially on Sunday.
