Rain odds up to finish the week

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An incoming low pressure system from the west will ramp up rain odds into the weekend for Middle Georgia.
This Evening
It’s been a relatively cloudy day for much of Middle Georgia however there hasn’t been much rain to this point. Odds for rain should stay pretty low through the evening however odds will climb overnight and into tomorrow. Expect a warmer and muggier night with lows likely in the mid to upper 60s. The warmest spots may stay above 70 degrees. Wind will be light out of the east.
Tomorrow
Friday may begin with some rain in parts of the region before a bit of a lull settles in during the afternoon. A few off and on showers will be possible during that timeframe. Highs should still get into the mid 80s for most of the region accompanied by light wind from the south-southeast. Severe weather is not expected.
Rain odds will climb again overnight tomorrow and into Saturday. Rain may be ongoing for many around Middle Georgia during the sunrise hours Saturday. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s with a light wind continuing from the south-southeast.
This Weekend
Saturday looks to be a wet one with numerous showers and storms likely throughout the day. Flash flooding could be possible in areas that see the most rain. As a result highs will only reach into the upper 70s and lower 80s Saturday afternoon. More sun and less rain are likely Sunday with odds for rain limited to isolated storms for both Sunday and Labor Day on Monday. Highs should return to the low to mid 80s after Saturday.
Watching the Tropics
A new tropical wave is emerging off the west coast of Africa. It currently has 20% odds to become a tropical depression over the next 7 days.
