Rain odds drop along with the humidity heading into Tuesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A slow moving front arriving in Middle Georgia tonight will lead to a drop in humidity and rain chances heading into the middle of the week.
This Evening
It’s a hot and partly sunny afternoon with many locations seeing heat indexes pushing the triple digits. A few isolated showers and storms are possible through the evening and into tonight. Most of the region will stay dry, however. While the northern parts of the state may see a few opportunities for severe storms no such hazards are expected in Middle Georgia. Temperatures will valley in the low to mid 70s under partly cloudy skies. It will be a bit breezy as the wind flows from the west-southwest at 7-15 mph with gusts reaching as high as 20 mph.
Tomorrow
While Tuesday will still be pretty hot a lot of locations should see high temperatures at just below 90 degrees. The heat indexes will not be as high as Monday either thanks to a drop in humidity. The southern third of the region may still see the humidity linger, however, as the aforementioned front will stay in the area until early Wednesday. This could lead to a few isolated showers and storms during the afternoon and evening in these counties. It will again be a breezy afternoon as the wind flows from the west-northwest at 7-15 mph with several gusts reaching over 20 mph.
Overnight will be mostly clear and a bit cooler as most locations should drop a bit below 70 degrees. The wind will flow from the northwest at 5-10 mph.
Wednesday and Beyond
Rain odds should be almost negligible Wednesday as temperatures largely reach the lower 90s around Middle Georgia. Rain odds should stay low heading into the weekend as temperatures continue to climb. The Tropics are also expected to remain quiet for the next week.
