Rain continues Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Rain will continue Friday as low pressure moves northeast through Georgia from the Gulf.

Light rain has been widespread around Middle Georgia since late this morning, however activity should taper off some through the remainder of the evening. Overnight off and on showers are likely to continue as skies stay overcast and conditions remain chilly. Expect low temperatures in the low to mid 40s accompanied by light and variable wind.

The final day of the work week will be another gloomy one as rain will be ongoing for many during the sunrise hours and off and on showers will continue through the morning. More widespread and heavier rain will be possible during the afternoon and evening.

Aside from the rain conditions Friday will be overcast and chilly with highs likely to be around 50 degrees. Wind will be light and variable although generally from the north.

Rain will continue into the overnight hours, possibly tapering off a little bit ahead of Saturday morning. Overnight lows will drop into the mid 40s for most of the region.

This Weekend and Beyond

Rain will continue Saturday as the cold front associated with the aforementioned low pressure becomes stationary, very slowly progressing southeast.

Sunday’s rain odds look lower for most of the region however the southeastern half may still see solid chances over the back half of the weekend. Skies will be overcast all weekend long and sunshine likely wont return much until the middle of next week.
