Rain and storms continue, but nothing severe

Looking Ahead

Headlines

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The rain is definitely making its way through Middle Georgia today.  Showers and Thunderstorms are still moving through now with very heavy rainfall, frequent lightning at times, and some localized areas of stronger winds.  The threat for rain and storms will diminish by Thursday morning.  Temperatures will be in the low to mid 60’s for most of us this evening.

Colder temperatures will try to push in overnight tonight when we get some good Cold Air Advection (ie cold air moving in).  Temps will be in the upper 40’s to near 50 by day break, and some clearing late on Thursday, but MUCH cooler with highs in the mid 50’s.  Friday will be even colder with highs in the low to mid 50’s, but the sun will be shinning.  The weekend will be mostly dry, but there could be a shower or two early Sunday morning in our Eastern and Southeastern counties.  More cool weather for the weekend and highs in the low to mid 50’s.

Then…..The Arctic comes to visit us nearly and mid next week.  Highs on Monday will be in the upper 40’s, then low 40’s on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Stay tuned for more on that….
