Purified water for babies sold at Kroger under recall

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says a brand of water made for babies is not safe.

Officials are recalling Comforts for Baby Purified Water with Fluoride Added.

It was sold at Kroger-owned stores in one gallon jugs and has sell-by dates from April 26, 2018 to October 10, 2018.

Kroger has received complaints about mold in the water. It has been identified as Talaromyces penicillium.

The mold may be invisible to the naked eye and could cause allergic reactions or asthma attacks in some people.

Babies living with HIV or other illnesses are especially vulnerable.

If you have this product in your home, you’re urged to return it for a refund.
