Pollen levels stay high as temperatures continue to warm

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will climb into the 80s Thursday as trees continue to bloom.

The scattered thin clouds over Middle Georgia this afternoon will slowly clear out through the overnight hours. Expect low temperatures in the mid to upper 40s around the region. Wind tonight will shift from the southwest to the northwest at around 5 mph. No rain is expected, however some patchy fog may be possible.

It will be the hottest day of the week as highs reach into the lower 80s for much of Middle Georgia under mostly sunny skies. Winds will shift to the south in the morning and stay their throughout the day at about 5 mph. Cloud cover should begin to increase some in the evening.

Clouds will continue to fill in overnight tomorrow as a cold front begins to approach from the northwest. Rain is unlikely, however things will be muggy with lows in the low to mid 50s expected ahead of Friday’s sunrise. Some fog will also be possible.

Friday begins the Cherry Blossom Festival in Middle Georgia, and it will be welcomed in with rain as the cold front moves into Middle Georgia Friday afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Friday evening and overnight.

Saturday will be partly cloudy and warm with the possibility for a few isolated showers as the cold front stalls out and becomes stationary off to the south. This will become a warm front heading into Sunday, likely bringing more showers and thunderstorms late Sunday afternoon and overnight into early Monday. Skies should clear out Monday with cooler and drier weather expected through the first half of next week.
