Suspect in custody in Dublin homicide investigation

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Police in Dublin now have a suspect in custody in a homicide that happened early Monday evening.

According to Dublin Police Chief Tim Chatman, a black male in his mid 30’s was dropped off at Fairview Park Hospital just before 6:30 pm.

They’re unsure right now whether the victim was alive when he was dropped off.

The man, who has now been identified as Stacy Deon Devero of Johnson County, sustained a single gunshot wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Chatman says investigators are currently conducting a search of the home where police found the suspect.

At this time, they’re unable to release the suspect’s name but the investigation is open and on-going.
