Plenty of warmth for opening day of the Cherry Blossom Festival

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures should climb back above average Friday afternoon as the 44th Cherry Blossom Festival begins in Macon.
This Evening
A pleasant sunny afternoon will become a clear and chilly night. The wind will remain light and variable with low temperatures likely to hover around 40 degrees.
Tomorrow
A sunny start is likely Friday before some high stratus clouds fill in during the mid-late afternoon. Temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 70s. 80s are unlikely although the warmest spots may get there. The wind will be light from the southwest around 5 mph. Pollen levels are continuing to climb with trees likely to get into the extreme by this coming weekend. Grass levels are also on the climb.
Overnight will be mostly clear with a jump in low temperatures expected. Valleys will be back above average with most if not all of Middle Georgia staying above 50 degrees. The wind will remain light out of the southwest.
This Weekend
Conditions will stay warm and mostly sunny through the coming weekend. Saturday will be a bit breezy from the southwest and Sunday is the vernal equinox (official start of spring). There is a slim chance for a shower Sunday evening however any rain experienced will be light and short lived.
