Macon pizza delivery woman shot in the face and head
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A woman is fighting for her life in a Macon hospital after being shot in the face.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found 21-year-old Brooklyn Rouse lying outside a residence at 2443 Vivian Drive around 8:20 p.m. on Monday.
Corporal Linda Howard says Rouse was delivering a pizza from the Papa John’s on 590 Billy Williamson Dr. to the home. According to Cpl. Howard, the residents of the home did not order the pizza. Rouse was robbed and shot before she knocked on the door.
Rouse was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health and is in critical condition.
“She’s a sweet girl,” said Papa John’s General Manager Frank Hurley. “From what I see, she doesn’t bother nobody, she’s not into drama she would do anything you need her to do in here.”
This is the second time a Papa John’s employee from the same location has been robbed and shot while on a delivery. On December 22, Duncan Siror, 23, was robbed and shot while making a delivery to Bloomfield Drive.
Hurley said both incidents have not only shaken employees, but made them angry to know it happened to what Hurley calls, “family”.
“We’re kind of like a family, we take care of each other, we look after each other,” Hurley said.
Investigators are looking into both cases to see if they are related.
For now, Papa John’s will still be delivering, but not to the areas where the shootings occurred.
