Perry police arrest suspect in domestic-related shooting

Perry police are investigating a domestic-related shooting that left one person injured Sunday evening.

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Perry police are investigating a domestic-related shooting that left one person injured Sunday evening.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Figston Run around 6:50 p.m. on September 21 after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found a victim suffering from gunshot injuries. Emergency medical personnel treated the victim at the scene before transporting them to the hospital.

Investigators identified the suspect as 22-year-old Alec Bloodworth. He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Authorities say the shooting appears to be domestic-related and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
