Perry named ‘Classic Main Street Community’

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The city of Perry is one of the country’s “Classic Main Street Communities.”

On Monday, representatives from the city attended the annual Georgia Main Street luncheon. Perry is one of 17 communities to receive the national designation.

According to a news release, Perry and several other communities applied to take part of the largiest Main Street start up class in the history of Georgia’ Main Street program.

“Earning the Main Street designation means Perry is recognized as fully implementing the four point approach…” Catherine Edgemon said. “This designation exemplifies the community’s commitment to historic preservation and downtown revitalization.”
