People get head start on applying for jobs at Macon water park
Lost Island Water Park at Sandy Beach is scheduled to open in May.
Applicants met one-on-one with management staff during the interviewing process Saturday.
More than 60 positions are available, including lifeguard and concession jobs.
Misty Gamble, the park’s general manager, says the applicants park officials met with were “pro-active” in seeking work by going to the park’s website for details on when to apply.
“We’re just looking for outgoing energetic individuals who we know can greet our guests and create an environment where guests want to come back over and over again,” Gamble says.
Construction is underway.
Gamble says the water park will feature a wave pool, a lazy river, two water slides, a junior Olympic size swimming pool and a children’s splash pad.
The park can hold 1,300 people per day. Park officials say they want that kind of crowd this summer.
