Pedestrian in recovery after hit and run incident

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man hit by a car on Rocky Creek Road around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday survives.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident as a hit and run. 

As he walked along the road, a car hit 49-year-old Ralph Stephens, which left the scene immediately after the accident. 

Reports say a nearby resident heard the loud noise outside their home, and saw Stephens lying in the roadway. 

Stephens was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
