Peach State college football coaches, players stop in Macon for 2014 Pigskin Preview

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – With former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray gone for the NFL, the Dawgs are looking to rising senior Hutson Mason to lead them this fall.

Mason was in Macon Tuesday morning at the annual Pigskin Preview at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.  It’s a chance for news outlets across the state to catch up with players and coaches from every college football program in Georgia.

Mason did play in three games at the end of last season after Murray got hurt, so he already has an idea of what life will be like this fall.  He says he’s trying not to think about what Murray did at UGA and that he just wants to create his own identity.

“What Aaron did, I won’t be able to accomplish,” Mason says.  “He had four years to do that and a lot of experience.  Really what I’m trying to do is do everything I can on a daily basis to get this team ready and for me to be ready to make a run at this SEC championship.  That’s what matters.”

Mason says his main focus over the next few months is getting his foot work down.
