FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The GHSA schools kick off the regular season this upcoming Friday and two rivals are going to be clashing in Perry when the Panthers play host to Peach County.

The Trojans beat the heat and the sun on Tuesday morning as the team plans on fine-tuning all the details before Friday night’s matchup.

“I think we’re in a good spot,” Head Coach Marquis Westbrook said. “We have a lot of senior leadership. They’ve got each others’ backs. We got all our guys equipped mentally, and we just have to go perform.”

“Peach County always had talent, but our relationship with Jesus Christ is so much better than last year,” Senior linebacker Ace Blunt said. “It’s just amazing.”

“As far as our team chemistry and team bonding, we’re miles ahead of last year,” Senior quarterback Caiden Ivory added. “Everybody agreed that we want to go out with a bang, so we’re just putting that work in every day, and trying to get better, and taking it one game at a time.”

The Trojans will travel to Perry Friday night in our Game of the Week on 41NBC.
