Peach County traffic stop uncovers 453 pounds of marijuana worth nearly $1 million

PEACH COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A traffic stop by a Peach County deputy late Monday night led to the discovery of 453 pounds of marijuana, valued at approximately $906,000, according to a Peach County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

Around midnight, a deputy stopped a pickup truck with a camper shell on I-75 southbound. During the search, deputies reported finding the marijuana inside shrink-wrapped bags inside the camper shell. The street value of the marijuana is estimated at $2,000 per pound, according to the Peach County Sheriff’s Office.

34-year-old Jia Bin Zhang of Norman, Oklahoma, was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana. Zhang is being held at the Peach County Law Enforcement Center with no bond.
