Peach County Sheriff’s Office arrests man in connection with Fort Valley shooting
Peach County deputies say a 20-year-old Fort Valley man is now in custody in connection with a shooting on January 5.

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Peach County deputies say a 20-year-old Fort Valley man is now in custody in connection with a shooting on January 5.
A Peach County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post Friday said 20-year-old Anthony Evans was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He’s being held without bond in the Peach County Law Enforcement Center.
Deputies say that around 6:15 p.m. on January 5, two people in a silver Chevrolet Malibu stopped in front of an apartment on Vandaway Street and fired several shots at the home. The resident of the apartment, who was standing outside at the time, fired back.
The sheriff’s office did not reveal if anyone was injured. The investigation continues, and more arrests are pending.
