Peach County looks to rebound after transition year

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Peach County Trojans ended 2013 with an 8 and 4 record, and in a place where head coach Chad Campbell is not usually accustomed to finishing. Heading into 2014, the Trojans want to rebound in order gain a few more victories for their win column.

Coach Campbell hopes last year’s experience helps his younger kids grow into better football players, but will still be leaning on some of his veterans, helped along by the majority of the line of scrimmage returning. Quarterback Tyrique McGhee will also be back, and Campbell will be looking for him to have a bounce back season after being injured for most of 2013.

Peach County’s defense last season was filled with mostly youth, but a year under their belts could mean a very solid group for Campbell’s squad, “I think we can be pretty good over there… we feel pretty good about the top 14 -15 kids we put out there.”

The Peach County Trojans will open their season at Warner Robins on August 29th.
