Gun recovered from student’s vehicle at Peach County High

District officials say the firearm was found during a disciplinary investigation Monday afternoon.

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Peach County Schools says a firearm was recovered from a student vehicle Monday afternoon at Peach County High School during a disciplinary investigation.

According to the Peach County Schools, school resource officers and administrators recovered the gun from a vehicle parked on campus.

The district says there was no threat to students, faculty or staff at any point.

In a statement, the district credited staff, school resource officers and local law enforcement for helping maintain campus safety.

No additional details about the student involved or possible charges have been released.
