Pasko Named Bobcat Athlete of the Week

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – Sophomore Rachel Pasko (Jefferson, Ga.) of the Georgia College cross country team, was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for her efforts during the week ending Oct. 27. This marks the first such honor for Pasko and the Bobcat women’s cross country team this season.

The sophomore snapped a two-year old school record, leading the Georgia College women’s cross country team to an eighth-place finish at the 2013 Peach Belt Conference Championships Saturday. Pasko crossed the line in the 6K race at 23:02, six seconds quicker than the school record set by Allison Lones (Kathleen, Ga.) at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship in 2011. Pasko finished 26th overall among 100 runners.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Nov. 9 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship in Charlotte, N.C.
