Partly to mostly cloudy weekend likely to begin June

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Middle Georgia will see more cloud cover over the weekend compared to the past few days.
This Evening
Partly sunny skies will see a bit more clouds start to arrive as the evening rolls by. Middle Georgia will see pleasant conditions tonight as temperatures stay in the lower 80s and upper 70s through the evening hours. Overnight lows will drop into the lower 60s for most of the region as cloud cover increases more, however a couple of upper 50s are still likely in the cooler spots. Ambient wind overnight will come from the east-southeast at 5-10 mph. Folk enjoying the nice conditions should wear insect repellent as mosquitos will be out in large numbers.
Tomorrow
Scattered clouds are likely early on Saturday before temperatures rise heading into the afternoon. While cloud cover will increase more during the afternoon, it should not become overcast. Highs will reach the mid 80s for most of the region as winds come from the southeast at 3-10 mph, gusting to about 15 mph. An isolated shower or storm will be possible in the afternoon or evening, particularly for the western counties in Middle Georgia.
Overnight skies will be partly to mostly cloudy as temperatures only drop into the mid 60s, a 4-6 degree jump for most spots around the region when compared to Friday night/Saturday morning. Winds will come from the south-southeast at around 5-12 mph. A couple of small showers will also be possible overnight.
Sunday and Beyond
Sunday will see more cloud cover than Saturday, however highs will likely be a couple of degrees warmer in the afternoon. Expect a couple of isolated storms during the hotter parts of the day with a couple of small showers potentially lingering into the evening and overnight.
Conditions will continue warming into next week as partly cloudy skies become the norm most afternoons. Expect isolated storms to be possible each day as well as the calendar flips to June.
